Immortality

Immortality
Is not all it's cracked up to be
Boredom would be killing me
If it could

All my stuff is fossilized
My statue has been tossed aside
And now I realize
I'm regretting that tattoo

As I walk these streets
I'm the only one who knows
This city wasn't here
All that long ago

Before all of this was built
Before those hills had grown
There was another city right here
Where did it go?

Immortality
Is not all it's cracked up to be
Boredom would be killing me
If it could

All my stuff is fossilized
My statue has been tossed aside
And now I realize
I'm regretting that tattoo

So happy to attend
Your retirement party
I hate to say my friend
It's not in the cards for me

I'll have to keep that hustle on
And work forevermore
And put up with millennials
Just like I did the time before

Immortality
Is not all it's cracked up to be
Boredom would be killing me
If it could

All my stuff is fossilized
My statue has been tossed aside
And now I realize
I'm regretting that tattoo

There's no point to exercise
There's no point to calendars
There's no point to pyramids
No matter what you may have heard

They say that Life goes on
But they don't really understand, they're wrong
It goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on...

Immortality Is not all it's cracked up to be
It runs its course eventually
And I know statistically
You can't win the numbers game
Somewhere in outer space I dream
There's a rock that's tumbling
Right toward me
